Volunteers from Advocates team up with the Crown City Rollerz to collect over $600 in supplies for Binghamton Flood Relief in one weekSunday, 18 September 2011 09:25
Volunteers from Advocates Inc. helped to collect over $600 in emergency supplies to aid in the Binghamton Flood Relief effort. Binghamton families who lost their homes in the recent flood recieved donations of food, water, baby formula, diapers and cleaning supplies. Advocates teamed up with Cortland's Crown City Rollerz roller derby team to provide relief to families living in Binghamton shelters. Working together, they collected over $600 of supplies in only one week! Donations were collected at Redeemer Evangelical Church in Liverpool and at the Crown City Rollerz practice warehouse, "The Betty". On Saturday September 17th, the supplies were delivered to the Flood Relief Center in the Oakdale Mall, where they were immediately distributed to families by Catholic Charities volunteers. Thank you to all of the volunteers who participated in the Flood Relief Supply Drive, your efforts have made a big difference to many families who were devestated by the flood. You have certainly proved that we can make a difference in a short period of time by working together! Click here for more photos ~ Click here to find out how you can help |
